Insurance Fraudster Gets 10 Years
Spinal surgeon, and owner of the Texas Center for Orthopedic and Spinal Disorders, Mark Kuper was sentenced to 10 years in prison for his role in a $10 million healthcare fraud.
Kuper admitted to the conspiracy involving his wife and a physical therapist do defraud Medicare, Medicaid and Tricare, part of the US military healthcare system.
The scheme involved billing the insurers for services never performed; known as provider fraud.
